Nigger Bob was one of the many uneducated slaves that existed back then. There is one quote that slightly describe his appearance, "Nigger Bob was hardy, tall, fit Negro, not more than twenty-five, setting atop the driver's bench on the wagon" (62). Then there was this quote that I found to be interesting it was said by Kelly "'Since Pardee here's an abolitionist, we'll let Nigger Bob decide'" (63
Who is murdered?
John Brown had Fred and Owe, his sons, kill Doyle who was a slave owner. "By God, then two raised their swords and planted them right in the poor man's head, and down he went. Doyle wanted to live so bad he fell down and got up in the same motion, with Fred's broadsword still planted in his skull.." (57).
What is a broadsword?
A broadsword is one of the many weapons that John Smith bad his men carry on their person. "He had more weapons hanging off him than I ever seen one man cary: two heavy seven-shot pistols strapped to his thighs by leather... Plus a broadsword, a squirrel gun, a buckshot rifle, a buck knife, and a Sharpes rifle" (26).
